LUBUNGA EN RES[EAU], ALLIANCE FRANçAISE, KISANGANI / LUBUNGA EN RES[EAU], L’ALLIANCE FRANçAISE DE KISANGANI
Coming back to Kisangani a year later allowed sharing the elaborated mappings of LubungaMode, both in Lubunga itself, and in Kisangani town, in public - and in institutional space - and with diverse audiences.
An exhibition was conceptualised and designed to be shown at the Alliance Française, located in Kisangani´s central district of Makiso. Thereby, it was the aim to network the three different mapping approaches – spatial, narrative and scientific – and to create one overall field of visual and textual information, and narrations.
To emphasize the fragmented and incomplete character of the investigations and encounters in and with Lubunga, a sea of A4 sheets were hanging - like pixels - in a fishing net. This illuminated net appropriated the exhibition space, creating a light and uneven background, which almost shimmered like water.
The exhibition opening served Studios Kabako to communicate Lubunga and its challenges to politicians, with the presence of two Provincial ministers, the Minister of Culture and the Minister of Planning, as well as the Governor’s Chef de Cabinet. The local press was present, followed by a good coverage on local radios and TV channels.

de rentabilité... »

training, research and creation on dance, visual theatre, music and film : “a workplace,
whereone is constantly on a personal quest and where sometimes one finds. It is a place
of much questioning but where on some evenings, certainty becomes obvious. A place where
often the notions of elegance will override those of efficiency and profitability…”
