This project follows the flying movement of the guinea fowl and gets inspiration from the meaning that the ancient Greeks gave to this bird. Mythology narrates the story of Meleager, a killed hero whose sisters are turned into guinea fowl by the Greek gods after his death. The scientific name for the species of the white-breasted guinea fowl is Agelastes meleagrides. This project imagines the points on this feather dress as the tears cried from mourning Meleager’s death. The feathers are the traces of memory, the shreds of cloth.
